For many years now, Joe and Maranda Dowell have been serving their friends and family great food. The pair traveled extensively to conventions, fairs and sports events, serving mainly sea food fried with batter which Joe had created.
With financial help from Joe parents, they decided to venture into restaurant business, opening four restaurants: two in New Orleans and two in Atlanta. But in 2005, things turned for the worse when hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans hard. However, this didn’t stop them from business as they closed the two restaurants and started to package and sell their special seasoning mixture to their big customer base. Over the years, they had registered many loyal fans that helped keep their business growing quite fast.
Later in 2007, they incorporated Gourmet, LLC, promoted the Joe’s Gourmet Fish Fry aggressively. People loved this delectable mixture of wheat floor and cornmeal that is mixed with flavorings, herbs and spices.
In several places, including Georgia, United States, and the product made triumphant entry and this gave the partners the impetus to do more and get their product supplied in more stores. It made its debut in stores and the registered results are simply impressive.
Since then, the product has appeared in larger stores and retains chains and it’s also available through Joe’s Gourmet website and Amazon.
