Modern Christmas tree – Shark Tank

January 19, 2018 By admin

Traditionally, Christmas trees offer nostalgic images of perfect holidays in perfectly cut greens that are decorated with nice heirloom ornaments and festooned with cranberry chains and home made popcorn. However, if you spend your childhood life as the grandson of famous Colorado design engineer who came up with the A Frame Cabins, then there is no doubt your childhood memories would be very different.

For Mathew  Bliss, most  of his Christmas holidays was spend with his grandfather Lawrence “Bud” Stoecker,- who created his Christmas tree out of cardboard, but later settled on Plexiglas. He was a superior engineer with some sense of an inner artist who didn’t just made a tree but also created some notes on  light patterns and the ornaments that he created, and  this ensured that nothing would be repeated and the Christmas tree looked different from others that  would be created. The trees he made hung from the ceilings and were made from concentric rings. One of the most memorable moments by Mather is when he would lie below these lights and looking up, only to enjoy a scene that is similar to a night sky.

However, in 2007, while Bud and his wide were parking their belongings and preparing to move to their retirement home, Mathew was offered a tree so that he keeps as a family heirloom.  Later, his grandfather suffered Alzheimer disease and he felt that he would share the unique designs by his grandfather to the public.

During that time, he worked a mortgage banker and he enlisted friends with amazing photography and web skills and hired a company-RMI plastics in Denver to manufacture the trees. He first showed them to the public in 2011 at the Denver Modernism show and they were a huge success.

Since then, the trees have been sold to Google, Disneyland Hotels and Red Bull, among other companies to display during the Christmas season. However, these trees are also available to persons who have modern taste.

The updated version of this Christmas tree is made of crystal ornaments and acrylic rings that   are of different colors and shapes. They come in both small and large sizes and also available are models that have been designed specifically for tables. There is a clear video at the company’s website showing you how to hang the Christmas tree if you don’t have a good place where you can hang it at the ceiling. This tree is easily collapsible and you will find it easier to store thanks to the accompanying bag.

While Mathew created a successful business from his grandfather’s legacy, he committed part of the proceeds from the sales to the Colorado Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. For every sale, $50 is donated to this charitable organization. And so far, he has made donations that total more than $15,000. For people who want something custom and different, there are a variety of Christmas trees that are available. They offer a great appeal, while helping support a worthy cause in the community.
